The World Trademark Review’s prestigious WTR 1000 is the only standalone publication recommending individual practitioners and their firms exclusively in the trademark field. It identifies the leading players in over 80 key jurisdictions through competitor and client interviews. The 2023 edition of the ranking was published recently.
Practice leader Jeffrey Vicq and partner Athar Malik were again named to the WTR 1000 under Canada: Vicq was aptly described as someone who “elevates any discussion around IP strategy and does a great job of aligning trademark portfolios with commercial objectives”, while Malik was distinguished as bringing additional “firepower” to the table and as someone who “also stands out for his sophisticated negotiation skills”. Both were commended on understanding “the strategic interplay of intellectual property and corporate objectives”.
The quality of Clark Wilson’s entire trademark team was also acknowledged, being described as a “highly sought-after name on Canada’s West Coast”, carrying “an impressive client roster stacked with leading names in the high-tech sector” and with clients coming “for the team’s deep legal know-how, problem-solving expertise and strategic portfolio management.”
This ranking further confirms the positioning of Jeffrey, Athar and the Clark Wilson trademark group near the forefront of this increasingly competitive industry.
Well done, team!
