For over a decade, clients have trusted Aaron to guide them with practical advice, sound judgement, and tenacious advocacy in mediations and at all levels of court in British Columbia.

Aaron is distinguished as a Trust Estate Practitioner (TEP), having completed the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners certification program. He excels in identifying efficient and strategic solutions tailored to our clients’ needs. While Aaron tirelessly champions our clients in the courtroom, he also understands the value of resolving disputes efficiently and amicably through negotiation or mediation when possible.   • Gaines v. Duggan, 2023 BCSC 1744 – Lead counsel in trial regarding the interpretation of a Deed of Trust. Our client was successful in defending against the Plaintiff’s proposed interpretation which would have left client with no benefit from Trust.

Proof of Deceased’s Inter Vivos Gift of Forgiveness of Mortgage
  • Houghton-Jukes v. Gough, 2018 ONSC 1525 – Lead counsel in a dispute over whether a mortgage had been forgiven. The only evidence to corroborate the clients’ disputed evidence on the deceased’s intentions was an ambiguous handwritten notation. Client successfully met onus of establishing elements of inter vivos gift.
Defense in Disputed Property Ownership Claim
  • Robinson v. Kuypers, 2020 BCSC 770 - Co-counsel for defendants in successfully arguing that the plaintiff’s ownership claim over property was barred by the limitation period.

  • Re Burnett Estate, S-2012897 (Unreported) – Validation of e-mail from deceased as last will and testament for Canadian assets.
