Clark Wilson’s Infrastructure, Construction & Procurement Co-Chair, Satinder Sindu, will present at Construction Specifications Canada’s (CSC) Oktoberfest Trade Fair on October 23rd, 2024.
Satinder’s presentation is titled, “Clark Wilson Year-In Review of Construction Law”. She will analyze several key cases from 2023-2024 and present a retrospective to assist construction professionals in navigating this risk-prone industry.
In this presentation, attendees will explore key findings, principles, and developments in construction claims over the past few years. Topics covered include:
- Builders’ Lien Update — the procedural requirements under the Builders Lien Act, what lands can be liened, time limits to file and damages for wrongful filing.
- Construction Defects — what is the liability of developers?
- Bonds —considerations for claimants in labor and material payment bonds.
- Contract Interpretation — exclusion clauses and contract contingencies.
