As one of Vancouver’s largest and most respected law firms with over 85 lawyers across 26 practice groups, staying connected with one another is of paramount importance to us.
Enter: The 33.
The 33 is a town hall-style standing meeting held every other month, but with an edge. When meetings begin at 8:33 am, participants are reminded to be bold, brilliant and succinct. The goal for the 27 minutes (and no longer) is to improve collaboration, share knowledge and ideas, celebrate each other’s successes and stay up to date on industry developments. We invite different lawyers to speak at each meeting, allowing everyone to hear what’s new and compelling across many different practice areas. By encouraging brevity and high-energy, these scrum like meetings allows us to foster a supportive culture and collegial meeting environment.
As a fun bonus, we invite one lawyer to select the music and breakfast theme for The 33. At our recent gathering, David Buxton-Forman enthusiastically shared his love of South African breakfast foods with the team, including boerwors and biltong. Everyone left very full (and well-informed) heading into the weekend.
